I travelled along the garden route. A friend of mine had already recommended this hostel. The Dijembe is a very beautiful and nice hostel to relax and to communicate to many other backpackers. The staff (Bred and Helena) made me feel very comfortable. Althought I am vegetarian they cooked very decilicious meals for me. The yacuzzi of the hostel is... More

I've been to many backpackers along the graden route but Dijembe is the one with the best welcoming, friendly and homy atmosphere. Bred and Helena make you feel welcomed and at home and the accommodation is situated in a beautiful place in hte nature and you have everything from bonfire place over hammoks to a Jaccuzi surrounded by lots of... This is the hostel you should be going in the Stormsriver region! I have had a great time in this cozy but yet adventures hostel. I immediately felt at home. The staff was very friendly and really helpful. I would go back in a heartbeat!

And we had amazing accomendation for 2 of us and we could hear so many sounds that impossible to hear in the city) Atmosphere is very nice, all people friendly and in the morning we had very good... Dijembe, which is lonely planet's pick for storm's river seems to go downhill since the last review. The hostel was unclean and the staff, particularly during the day, are angry and simply yell at the other staff, complain about the guests, and the owner. I can only imagine what they say about me. They are too busy being angry and... More

One of the most memorable places on a recent backpacking trip through South Africa. The rooms were basic but clean and the house was located on a beautiful property with horses and dogs roaming free during the day. The staff were wonderful. Everyday they ensured you were having a great time and helped you schedule activities and even set up... More

Recently rented a private 2 person room at Di Jembi. The staff were very friendly, and the rates affordable (R300), but the place is very very basic and a little grimy. Besides for the inconvenience of being moved from one room to another in the rain, it was an adequate stay. Do not expect any luxury, it is rustic to... More

I've stayed at this backpackers before and had only good things to say about it! However on our wat from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth we wanted to stay over at Dijembe again. I reserved a 4 bed room about a week before and notified them that we would only be leaving Cape Town after 5 in the afternoon, thus... More
