My husband and I had the best week soaking up the great outdoors while at Glisten! We loved our dome and had such a great time exploring all of the wonderful cities nearby. The fact that the hassle was taken out of camping and we were able to truly relax and focus on spending time together was my favorite part! We highly recommend a visit to this lovely campground! You will not regret it!

We stayed in Dome 8 by a stream and under oak trees - it was a stunning setting and comfortable, warm accommodation. The beds/hammocks were great and every creature comfort was thought of from rechargeable lights to drying racks and a very well thought our kitchen area. It was better accommodation than a gite we rented later in the summer! As for the campsite, the toilet/shower block was very clean and not far from our dome. The pool was close enough by for our 8 and 10 year olds to use without strict supervision. They also used the table tennis tables and met some French and Spanish children for evening football by the playground. We asked the Glisten crew for surfing advice and they directed us to Lehena in Hendaye - the guys spoke English and rented us boards and wetsuits. Hendaye is an excellent beach for beginners to surf and the boys spent many hours happily practising. We tried the beach south of Biarritz but weren't really happy for the boys to surf on their own there as the waves were too big. Really great family holiday.…

First camping trip with 2 and 4 year olds so we went for the Glamping option with the domes and glad we did. Great size, dome inside is partitioned off into 3 areas (bedroom, kids bedroom, lounge) and has decent storage space (area under bed good use of space). Lovely to have the fake grass underfoot (hope it hoovers well as must get a lot of sand in it!) Could park the car right outside which was so useful with the kids. Kitchen area was nice and good to see a large fridge added as comments previously mention small fridge (which is still there, note, it makes that cupboard very warm though so we didn't use that for food storage). I didn't really love the Plancha (sorry) only because it's a pain to clean and you have to take the drip tray to the washup area! - but it worked well for cooking (pasta in a saucepan was fast, fried eggs quick (but messy) and we did chicken fajitas too.) We were in the first dome of 4 near the facilities and with little kids this was great. No great walk to anywhere and playground and pool were so close. It meant we didn't have as much space around us to hang out/play as some of the further out domes but with little kids this suited us perfectly to be nearer amenities. Playground (on sand) was fantastic for our kids as they got to play on the equipment AND with the sand! (so take buckets and spades) Pools can be cold but warm up throughout the day and were great with the 3 options (only moan would be the toilet nearest the pool is a bit of a walk around when if they put another gate in that would make it nearer/easier). We ate at the restaurant once and got yummy pizzas and decent kids options. We also did takeaway pizza on the last night which was so easy. Shortish walk to the shower block so that wasn't bad, nice clean facilities. We were there early/mid July and the weather was mixed. I found it got much colder at night than I was expecting so was relieved I brought long sleeve/leg pyjamas for the kids else they would have got very cold (they don't like duvets/blankets!!) and I was cold myself and wore a jumper every evening so do note that. Nice location so near to St Jean De Luz, Hendaye, San Sebastien. Would definitely recommend!! For those that care - you could get wifi in the restaurant/bar area. Supermarket was a bit of a drive but then massive E.Leclerc awaited us which was great (they're doing it up at the moment and have no clue about looking after customers so you have to walk around the works (in the rain, with a trolley through the traffic...)…

Hi Ginny Thanks for your feedback. Much appreciated and some great tips for future guests. July has seen an unusual amount of rain for this time of the year. Wearing Jumpers in the evening is not the norm for the basque country. Cheers Simon

My wife and I used to camp often as a couple but this was our first experience as a family and it was a great introduction for our kids with very family friendly facilities laid on by Glisten. We were in the Domes further away from the main campsite which were much quieter and had great space around them for the kids to play. As we were there before high season the restaurant and shop on site were open very limited hours which was a shame as we missed the chance to eat there. I'm keen to see what other locations Glisten open in the future to try!

First experience of 'glamping'. Very impressed with the facilities. Our tent came with outside shower and toilet. The shower was excellent and the cooking facilities were good. The tent is partitioned into three areas; bedroom with double bed, bedroom with two hanging beds for children and a 'lounge' area with large window and sofa bed. Given the time of year (early April), the campsite was quiet which was to our liking. The campsite facilities (swimming pool, bar, shop etc) had not opened yet so be sure you check before confirming dates. The campsite is well placed, having easy access to main roads. We were approx. 40 mins from Biarritz by car. Other towns such as Bayonne and San Sebastian are within easy reach. The nearest town is St Jean de Luz which is very nice and has an amazing beach (not for surfing). Several large supermarkets are also close by.…

Returned from our 4 night stay on the 8th of September with Glisten Camping and what a great stay we had. The campsite is lovely and in a great location only 10 minutes in the car from st jean de luz. Our dome was situated under a beautiful oak tree which provided welcome respite from the sun after a long day at the beach and kicking back on the double hammock with a beer in hand was a real pleasure at the end of the day. Great onsite facilities with a pool, bar and restaraunt serving delicious cuisine. Would like to mention the glisten team on site who made our stay. Thanks Matt(Will) and Lucy, great advice on places to visit, activities and places to eat, it was a real pleasure.

Just back from 8 nights stay with Glisten. Really lovely holiday with our three boys - ages 4, 8 and 10. The domes are really spacious, comfortable and a lot of fun to stay in! The boys loved the hammock beds and the adult bed was really comfy (for camping!). The dome has a solar powered fan on it so it doesn't get too hot and has lots of storage. There is also four plug sockets. Outside the dome is decking with another kitchen / dining tent. This is well equipped with a good sized fridge and the plancha - which we enjoyed cooking on. We stayed on pitch 4 - which was under the shade of a huge oak tree and had a big grassy area in front of it (size of two tennis courts). The toilet and shower blocks were clean, about 100 meters away and had plenty of hot water. The glisten reps - will and Lucy - came round every day to check we were OK and give us tips of day trips. They really helped us make the most of our time there! The campsite is not huge. It is on the hills just outside st Jean de Liz and is shaded by big oak trees. It is very well set up for children with children's pools, a decent playground, basketball pitch and tennis courts. There is a kids club - catering for children ages 5-12 which we didn't use. There is also a really nice restaurant - with nightly entertainment and a shop that sells delicious pain au chocolate! There is a lot to do in the surrounding areas - we went to Biarritz, San Sebastián, sare, st Jean de Luz - amongst others. Our one negative on the holiday was that the beaches were very busy and parking tricky. Traffic was also bad at times.... We went by ferry to Santander which worked well - kids really liked it. Overall a really good holiday. It was our second attempt at camping - and it was comfortable and fun - with the benefit of being in the outdoors in a lovely setting.…

Stayed in July with 2 children aged 7 and 9. Lovely campsite, everyone friendly. The Glisten camping domes are wonderful - super comfortable beds and plenty of space. Nothing not to like. The area is exceptional within a short period of time you can be on the beach, at the lake or in the mountains or visiting a City. There is so much to do - a week is not enough.

Very friendly and helpful staff on reception.Pitches are a good size and ample for a very long motor home. Most of the pitches were under trees. The toilet and showers were very good, clean and plenty of hot water. Only one chemical toilet emptying point that is quite a long walk from some pitches. The site has many levels and is quite steep for someone with mobility problems. We had a superb meal in the on site restaurant and the staff were friendly and helpful. Wifi is free but only around reception and restaurant. The coast is 15 minutes drive away. Big supermarket 5mins. Plenty for children to do in the playground. A busy site but quiet in the nights.

Brilliant holiday for our family of 4 (3 year old and 11 month baby). Lots of onsite activities to keep the kids entertained. Safe, fun pool area (solar heated), excellent playground and lots of other preschool families there in June too which was fun for kids and adults alike. The site is located close (driving distance) to beautiful kid friendly beaches. surfers paradise on some too. we'll be bringing grandparents next time to look after the kids whilst we get a chance to surf! The camp faciliites are good and glisten domes fantastic. Thoroughly recommend.
