Had the pleasure of staying here 2 years ago (met their PR guy, Markus at a friends' club outside London) and were lucky enough to stay in the main Chateau. The food was terrific, especially in the main hotel restaurant, and we thoroughly loved the calm ambiance of the whole property. I played lots of golf (although the "complimentary evian"... more

We had booked the wine festival offer incl golf tournament. From beginning to end of our stay, we felt pampered. Food was excellent, try the Restaurant Fresques - the food there is the best value for money I have had in a long time. The golf was perfectly organized from beginning to end - the plums from the trees along... more

A lovely French chateau in beautiful grounds with 27 holes of good quality golf, that also makes very palatable wine from its own vineyards. I'd recommend spending extra on a junior suite in the 'Dependances', which are very spacious, with the bedroom on a mezzanine floor and a generous living room downstairs, as well as a very nice terrace- a... more

The Hotel and Country Club is stunning on arrival. Very surprised that it was so quiet at this time of the year. We stayed in the Chateau and found the rooms very comfortable. Food avergae / poor - very little choice for a such a large place. The reason one would not recommend is simply Management (lack of it) my... more

We found the Chateau des Vigiers to be pretty much perfect for us. It has a stunning setting, great golf and a really friendly atmosphere. Recommend the new "Relais" section of the hotel - large, light and airy rooms in an unusual building and lovely breakfast room by the pool. It may not be the flashiest resort or most honed... more

We spent last weekend at the hotel to play golf Hotel grounds were splendid. Chateau was lovely though the furnishings were not period furniture. Rooms in the new block were very nice, clean, spacious and airy. The Valley course (9-holes) was lovely. Buggys came with GPS (we were charged 4€ for two small bottles of Evian mineral water in the... more

We stayed 3 nights in March. The weather was poor, it drizzled all 3 days and so the golf course was not in the best of condition. It is a truly lovely setting but needs the sunshine to really make it a good experience. The room we stayed in was a Junior Suite in the grounds and was very well... more

We stayed for 9 days in early July on the golf/gourmet/spa package. It is difficult to find a fault!! It is a lovely setting, the chateau is comfortable, the food excellent, the golf course is in good condition and quiet. We played nine holes in the morning - would then swim and lunch and play the second nine before dinner... more

After a week driving around France, my husband and I booked two nights at the Chateau to celebrate my husband's birthday. We spent a fantastic two days at the hotel which I cannot rate highly enough. We were given an upgrade to a Chateau room (not on request!) and everything, from the cotton sheets and beautiful bathroom to the incredible... more

Booked a last minute Easter Break to France. Flew BMI Baby from Manchester - Bordeaux and picked up Car at Airport. The drive through St Emillion was worth the visit alone. We arrived at the Chateau des Vigiers in the morning and took our standard room which was away fom the Chateau but as we booked last minute beggers can't... more
