I stayed here as part of a Wild Coast walk. The government is leasing the hotel to the management on three-year terms, so there is no incentive to invest in the property. Accordingly, the place is a bit shabby and old-fashioned. It isn't right on the beach, but the beach is about a 50-metre walk, and there is also a good river for swimming in. The hotel also has a nice pool and fairly attractive garden. We went on a tour led by a local man, Trevor, to a rock formation with waterfalls, for swimming, and he was fantastic - definitely the best part about staying there.
The food was not good, but it wasn't inedible. I would not choose to go there, but having to stay there as part of the tour was not terrible.
