Stayed here for 2 nights as were playing in a competition at the famous golf course. The hotel is slowly being refurbished - new carpets and new paint..... and we were in one of the newly done rooms. We stayed in The Golf Hotel for 2 nights over a weekend. From the moment we walked in, it was a disapointment. We arrived late in the evening and had to go to the bar to check in, we were greeted by blank expressions, given no info on the hotel or area, just a key and directions to the room.... more

Called in looking for 2 single rooms, we were told "They are small", the rooms could easily have a double bed! Ensuite bathroom was excellent. Good views from the windows, quiet location, but still in the centre of Silloth. The staff were enthusiastic, multi tasking, everybody did all the jobs, nothing was a problem for them.
