The Villa del Quar is a spectacular property. We stayed in their top room with a view of the pool. It was a fairy tale suite with over the top furnishings reflecting the taste of the Contessa who runs the hotel. She was delightful and certainly lived up to her title. The restaurant was worthy, quality wise, of its 2... more

We spent one night here late October. It has lovely surroundings. Its very pricey but they did give us a discount when we asked if there was anything less expensive. (started wanting 315e a night we settled on 250e after he asked me what i wanted to pay. I did say 200 but no go) The hotel was almost empty.... more

Hotel staff will meet your every need, the rooms are spectacular and large and internet confections. Dinning at Arquade was an experience of a life time. And if you are lucky you might even get a chance to learn how to make pasta. The grounds are spectacular with a large pool and vineyards surround the hotel. more

Our 4 night stay was excellent from beginning to end - the staff were very friendly and efficient, our room (a suite in the rear building) was beautifully furnished with antique furniture, well equipped and spotlessly clean. The pool and garden area was so relaxing and the huge pool itself just wonderful - with the hot weather the temperature of... more

Having last stayed at this hotel back in 2000, we were looking forward to returning. What a disappointment! While the swimming pool (unheated) and surroundings are lovely, the general attitude of the management and staff were entirely unacceptable. Management have become diffident and arrogant. The prices have become outrageously high, not only for the rooms, but for all the extras.... more

We stayed in one of the basic rooms since the only thing available was a deluxe suite at a price we didn't want to spend...it was really fine and wonderful...We did not like the first room they showed us...the front desk was so accommodating!...we were shown another and were pleased...at the same price...food excellent, service, concierge...friendliness...[and even two fabo dogs... more

Whenever I see an "eliporto" for private helicopter arrivals, and police guard outside of the gates, I know I am too unimportant for an establishment that would consider me lucky to stay there. Perhaps it was a relaxing charming peaceful country hotel before, but by now it certainly attained an arrogant air of a supreme hide-away for celebrities. Perhaps those... more

Firstly I'd like to comment on the the feedback from the previous reviewer. Popular and fully booked hotels / villas often have similar restrictions to their booking policy, i.e. booking of a minimum number of days etc. I have seen that often with more independent companies so this is not a reflection of the hotel service or the beauty of... more

While the hotel is both, charming and somehow spartanic for a 5-star option beware of the greed shown by the management. High season cancellation within 90 days of stay will cost you as much as the entire stay, even in case the room can be re-sold. Additionally they will not accept stays below 3 days during summer. Anyone who is... more
