We have visited Borgo di Vagli since 2004. We've been there during all seasons, mostly in June and September, but we even spent New Years Eve there. We find that it is a peaceful and wonderful way to unwind and an escape from the freeways of Southern California, so we love the rustic setting in the mountains of Tuscany. During... More

The property was great, if you can do without some of our modern day conveniences. Be sure to know your route ahead of time to return to the airport because, unless you know Italian, the old winding roads to the highway could get you lost very easily and eat up a lot of time getting back on track.

This place is not close to anything. I live in the mountains so I am use to windy curving roads but this one is so badyou are afraid to leae at night. Our unit had no window in the kitchen and with no air conditioning it was to hot to cook. It was hard to sleep between the hard mattress... More

Thank you for your feedback. We are really sorry you did not enjoy your stay with us. Unfortunately, we have tried in many ways, both in all our publicity and website, to explain that our Borgo is not for everyone; nevertheless, we still host guests that are not ready for our uniqueness And we are sorry for that, because it... We spent two wonderful weeks at Borgo di Vagli. The setting among the Tuscan hillside is breathtaking. The quiet and solitude is so calming. But most of all you feel a part of he Tuscan life when you're there as you're staying in a 13th century village once inhabited by the locals. The food at the restaurant is authentic and... More

It was quaint, authentic (alittle too much so to be totally comfortable) and remote. Very pleasant staff but no information was offered unless you asked. I bet most guests had no idea there was a bocce court and ping pong on the property. The other reviews are spot on. Location made it difficult to do day trips since you had... More

Borgo di Vagli is an enchanting place out in the Tuscan country side and very remote. In this review, we'll point out things we wish we'd known prior to going on this trip. Our main purpose for the trip was to see and experience Tuscany. Now retrospectively, we wish we picked a lodging place which was more central and easier... More

Borgo di Vagli is beautiful and the staff is wonderful in terms of availability, friendliness, helpfulness and overall hospitality. The views are spectacular! The restaurant on the premises is very good and it is worthwhile dining there. However, we ended up eating dinner there more than we had planned because we did not want to deal with the road coming... More

It’s been nearly two months since we returned from Italy but pleasant thoughts of Borgo di Vagli still remain. We stayed in a restored 14th century 3 bedroom, 2 bath villa with wonderful views of Castle Pierl across the valley. The villa included all the comforts of home: spacious rooms, great bathrooms and bath products, internet access, full equipped kitchen... More

There is not much more I can add to the prior reviews except to update that the property in July of 07 is still as the others described. It is a truly magical experience.Very remote but it won't take long to adapt to the quiet and beauty of the the property and entire region. We stayed in a 2 bedroom/2bath... More

In August 2004, I spent 7 nights in unit #17 - Romantique, which was a studio unit detached from all the other buildings on the edge of this 13th refurbished hamlet. I wasn't quite prepared for the remote location; however, it grew on me! Maybe I just didn't do enough research prior to arriving. The hamlet is about 20 minutes... More
