I booked quite last minute and I managed to get a very great deal contacting directly the hotel. Amazing Mountain view room, enchanting location and plenty of good local food at breakfast and dinner. The spa is a very nice way to end the day as well.

Good food, friendly service, room cleaning could be improved, central location in Klobenstein, good for short walkings! You can reach Bolzano and you needno car! Ritten card is included, so you can use public transportation without additional cost

We stayed at this hotel as a homebase for a motorcycle tour of the dolomites. The hotel has been run by the same family for the past 80 years. They are very proud of their operation and it shows in the hotel. The hotel is kid friendly. Many families were staying with their children and seem to be having a great time enjoying meals together. The rooms are clean and well appointed. There are nice gardens surrounding the hotel and inside is a spa with steam, sauna, indoor and outdoor pool. It was very relaxing to come back to the hotel after a day of spirited riding and enjoy a great meals in the spacious dining room. The breakfast buffet was great as well. If I return to the dolomites I will certainly stay here and recommend it to friends.

Hotel Bemelmans-Post goes back a long way, it is centuries old! But, fortunately, they have updated everything inside! The location is absolutely perfect. Collalbo is a very quiet village in the first place, but there is no through-road close to the hotel so it is completely silent at night. The view of the Dolomites is spectacular. Our room was beautiful and big, spotlessly clean, the beds very comfortable. The bathroom was fine, I was lucky I am a short legged person because the toilet is very close to the shower. Breakfast is excellent, there is a buffet with a wide choice of fresh and healthy foods. Coffee is very good. The forst night we wanted to eat somewhere else in the village, but we couldn't find anything so we came back to the hotel to discover that we had booked half-board. We were actually pleasantly surprised with the dinners. In the morning you could choose from the menu, 3 courses after the buffet of anti pasti. All very good, but the anti pasti are so good that that was actually enough for us. There's also an impressive wine selection. We went for wine of the region, most of which are excellent! The service was friendly and good. A very nice feature is the indoor swimming pool. We swam every morning. Too bad the rest of the well ness (multiple saunas and steam baths) are only open from the late afternoon which did not fit in our program. All in all we had a fabulous time here and I do hope to come back. Just two minor points for improvement: it would be nice to have the possibility to make coffee and/or tea in the room: we asked twice and were told that in Alto Adige this is not customary in the rooms. I think that that is a strange answer, I think people all over the world like to have a cup of coffee when they wake up. I don't have to have a Nespresso machine, it can be a simple system with instant coffee.... The other thing we missed are slippers to go to the pool. We did have bathrobes and bath towels but had to go to the pool in our bare feet (or in our snow boots....). Everything said and done I do highly recommend this excellent hotel!

We actually decided to stay at this hotel just as we arrived into town and it was a great choice! It is a very fancy and pricey hotel but it’s worth it. Our room was lovely, big, comfortable and was very clean. We also had a balcony which gave us a wonderful view of the Dolomites. We opted for breakfast and dinner included. You might want to bring a few nice outfits for dinner here as you are seated in a rather grand looking hall. You can pick from a semi set menu for dinner and there is a buffet for appetizers which was amazing, although I did fill myself up on the appetizer buffet, I could have done without the dinner itself actually. The meals served at dinner was only satisfactory, nothin special. Breakfast was also buffet style, although I found it to be lacking in variety compared to other hotels I have stayed at. There really wasn’t much I wanted to eat. I feel like they should change the appetizer buffet over to the breakfast buffet. Cocktails here were wonderful and a good variety of beers and wine. They have a child’s play room which is very nice. Use of the pool, sauna etc is included but I would have preferred if there was an option to add this on, as we really just felt pressured to use it since we paid for it in the room price. Car park space was also very limited. It would also be nice to have some complimentary water in the room or even at dinner, considering the price we are paying.

A Beautiful Hotel with a beautiful setting. The view from our room was ever changing with the light. Our room was large and very clean. We could sit on our balcony and have a drink even in October. The staff was very helpful which we needed because we do not speak Italian or German. We ate dinner there every night. The food was very good with lots of variety. I had a surprise breakfast on my Birthday. Table was beautifully decorated with a card and gift. This was our second visit and will return again when possible.

We stayed at this hotel 4 nights using it as a base to walk sections of the Keschtnweg trail. Food is excellent, pool and wellness centre provide a very good place to relax after a days walking. Good views from our bedroom and the autumn colours in late September were superb. We were the only English speaking guests at the hotel. Although some staff speak some English you really need to speak some German to get full benefit from the hotel. We had 2 surprises during our stay. The first was a nice surprise, on Thursday evening the hotel has a gala evening. This was a lovely meal with local music. The second surprise was not nice. One of the male guests decided that being naked in the sauna was not enough, so he walked around the main swimming pool (it was not a pretty sight) and then swam naked in the pool. However, I don't think that this was normal behaviour.

It looks like a microclimate in Collalbo in summer, after a thunderstorm the sun will always come out and make you happy and so does this hotel and it's staff. The wellness is more than OK with a recent panoramic sauna on the roof top looking over the mountains. You should absolutely consider half board because the (local) kitchen is superb. As for breakfast you can find everything you can dream of ! There are all kinds of rooms from very small to beautiful suites, so that's quite difficult to judge but we had a nice wide room with a nice view on the mountain Schlern, but the kids had to do with less space and no view ... of course you see the difference in the price.

We returned to this lovely hotel a year later and found it even better! We had a beautiful view from our room, the reception and dining areas have been upgraded and the patio remains a wonderful place to sit and have a drink and to contemplate the Alps. The one waitress (with the visible tattoos) was rather unhelpful but the rest of the staff were superb and made us feel at home. The salad buffet was the best I have ever seen. Hope to come back again one day - the Ritten plateau is such a beautiful area!

Edelweiss booked us in to the Bemelmans Post for a week as a base for their Alps Riding Academy. Initially we found the establishment rather quiet and reserved but it grew on us daily. The rooms were large and comfortable and we slept very well. The food was superb, the service by the staff great, who seemed to get to know us individually and we could see why families come back here year after year. And why Sigmund Freud spent a whole summer here in 1911 writing some important essays on psycho-analysis! The location on the Ritten plateau is fantastic in summer and the narrow gauge railway is a short walk away from where you can catch the quaint train to the cable car station to descend to Bolzano. We were too busy motorbiking to use all the hotel facilities but we have decided that the pool, spa and garden are worth a follow-up visit. We moved on to more expensive and bigger hotels during our Italian trip but we found most of these disappointing in comparison to Bemelmans-Post. We will be back! Tips: make sure you can transfer from Bolzano using the €2 public bus number 165 (intermittent on Sundays), or the €35 pre-booked hotel transfer rather than a €50 taxi. Also buy bottled water for the room - the hotel does not offer it.
