The hotel is beautifully located! That's a GREAT point in favor! Really! Lake, forest, etc.! But the rest is really average! The food is good but not diversified! The rooms are not so great! The bathrooms are average despite the open ceiling while showering! ;-) The furniture is becoming old, but remember we are in the middle of the jungle... More

Thankfully we only stopped here over night whilst traveling the country. The hotel consists of thatched cottages, looks very appealing, but the cottages are very musky and that's probably because there wern't many guests at the time and the cottages had't been well ventilated. A short stay is okay, but we certainly wouldn't recommend a long stay.

We stayed 1 night in this hotel and had a great experience. The room was spacious and clean. the bathroom was really nice, outdoor. Food options are quite exhaustive, and the little bar by the pool is the perfect place for sipping a fresh beer after a long day. staff was very nice too. highly recommended. cheers,

We have been in 6 different hotels during our trip thru Sri-Lanka and the Deer Park hotel was the best! It's relatively close to a lot of important cultural places in Sri-Lanka.

Service was very good and the room in its own characterful little bungalow in the grounds was quite spacious stylish, modern and comfortable, as were the public areas.
