We stayed here in July just before the English school holidays broke up. The guests at the hotel were mainly Italians and Spanish with a few other nationalities including a few British families as well. The resort itself was probably very nice 10 years ago but most of it has shut down now with only a handful of bars, restaurants... more

This is a 3* hotel with a very traditional feel. The furnishings are in keeping with the style of the hotel and are comfortable. Staff are absolutely marvellous (especially Jonathan on reception - who went out of his way to make sure that everyone enjoyed their stay). We really enjoyed our week in La Cala hotel in Cala Major. La Cala is a bit different hotel in terms of exterior look ... it seems to be something like "spanish hacienda" which is nice and much more friendly then most common big blocks of flats in El Arenal and other such places. Went for a relaxing break at this all-inclusive hotel. Located right on the beach front. Stunning views from large balconies. Only a few rooms without balcony (think these are the family rooms). You can walk into Palma from the hotel. At a guess would say it takes about 20 mins to reach the port and then it is a nice... more

We have just returned from our holiday 29/5 to 5/6 and can say we had a thoroughly chilling week at La Cala hotel. The resort was open but not very busy and there are only a couple of cafes/bars to go to in the evenings nearby. There was 2 nighclub/disco's and a karaoke bar but they were empty. Quite a simple plastic-help-yourself all-inclusive . Very clean and and rigth on the beach. Great sevice-minded staff. As we were not satisfied with our first small dark room on the ground floor - we got a nice room with a balcony on complaing. Perfect for bustrips to Palma. Quite place for grown-ups - mostly English people. more
