A group of 10 of us were visiting Athens and decided to take an overnight trip out to Hydra. We didn't make any hotel reservations before arriving but the owner of Erofili met the boat when it arrived and asked if we needed a room. We said we needed 5 and were thrilled when he said he could accommodate all of us...I'm sure he was just as thrilled to have 5 of his rooms occupied in the off-season :) I don't know what the normal price is during high season but we were there in November and he charged us 30 Euros per room! The pension was beautiful...the rooms were all very clean and comfortable, we all had our own bathrooms, and there was an enchanting common area downstairs. The pension was a few minutes walk from the main area of the island and there was a small grocery store nearby as well. The pension is also not a far walk from the monastery...the road is steep but definitely worth the effort to get to the top.
Hydra is a small but beautiful island. There are no vehicles...
