Beautifully located near Tahiti airport with grand views over Moorea. We jumped into the lagoon from our over-water bungalow. The bungalow was well kept, featured a beautiful bathroom and fantastic views over the Pacific. Spent 2 nights here on either side of our honeymoon. Basically its a transfer hotel. Avoid if you can. Ancient rooms/bungalows, full of kids and annoying "groups" of tourists, wierd insects in room, one doesnt want to get into the shower, rude staff "in general".......only saving grace is the gastronomic restauraunt which is good for Tahiti standards............. As with many other reviewers, we opted to start our two-week French Polynesian trip with two nights at the IC F'aa (formerly The Beachcomber). We do not recommend this hotel for more then 1 night. It is loud, the quite pool was under refurbishment, the tradional restaurant was under refurbishment - the rest is like Disneyland (not like French Polynesia). We really enjoyed the Intercontinental. We used the Ambassador program to get an upgrade and they let us check in early from our flight that arrived at 5:30 am. The pool here was the best we saw in French Polynesia. Actually two very nice pools - one with a sandy bottom. The views overlooking Moorea from the hotel were tremendous.... more
