My partner and I were searching for an affordable holiday rental somewhere outside of Barcelona where we could enjoy the beach and get away from the tourist crowds. We heard about Les Oliveres through friends and were convinced by the description of modern newly built holiday houses with hotel and beach access in a quiet location in “real Catalonia”.

Being able to fly directly from Dublin to Reus with Ryanair was a real bonus and we easily rented a car at the airport and sped away to L’ampolla with no problems. Arriving at the complex, we were delighted to see a collection of small houses with ours nestled into the middle and facing a lovely pool with the hotel resort a short walk away. The house itself is on 3 levels, with lots of space and a great patio and grassy area outside facing the pool. We were expecting the usual traditional Spanish decoration of dark colours, lace and heavy wood but were delighted to find that the house was very modern inside with bright colours... more
