Our expectations were high and after the long, yet spectacular, ride up the winding moutain roads of the Douro Valley we were very disappointed. Our stay was really amazing. The pousada is charming, the pool is good, the food in the restaurant is very good and the staff is very nice. Also enjoyed a lot the city of Alijó (where the pousada is located, and everything around was breathtaking) more
The hotel, rooms and garden are quite nice but photos provided normally do not show that everything is rather small and crowded. Rooms are OK, some with a nice small terrace or at least french window, some without.
