I love Greek islands. Although I always choose reasonably priced hotels, the rooms are always very clean and tasteful.

Poseidonion was the first hotel in the last 10 years that I didn't like. After we had told the hotel owner that the toilet is not flushing, he brought a bucket to serve this purpose. The bath tub was rusty. The A/C was from 1960s. One night it froze and we woke up by the sound of ice falling out of this ancient machine. There was an old and dirty cooker in the room. A large part of the hotel was inhabited by some Philippine workers.

Breakfast were OK, the room was cleaned on regular basis including the sheets.

After 10 days we were told we had to pay some 40 EUR for the use of A/C although no-one told us that the use of A/C would have to be payed.

Do not be turned off by this review – we fell in love with Chios (Anavatos, Mesta, Pirgy, Mavra Volia and Kambio felt like in heaven) and we shall certainly return. more
