Stayed here due to visiting Christmas fair at ripper castle. A warm welcome on a cold night before being shown into a small cottage style room.
Delightful styling of room in keeping with character of hotel. Only thing missing was a shower as running two baths in a morning seems hectic and time consuming.
Restaurant provided a relaxing ambiance and...

My wife and I recently stayed as members of a shooting party. We were so delighted with the hotel I wanted to post a quick review. The hotel manages the dual roles of a country house hotel and local hostelry with expertise, good service and charm. The bar is an un-fussy, sensible village pub whereas the hotel lounges exude comfort and...

Have just spent two nights in the hotel for my husbands fiftieth birthday. Had a lovely time. We stayed in the busby room which was one of the smaller rooms. We had a lovely en suite bathroom. The room was tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. Some nice little touches were the cafetiere for our morning coffee, a small tin of...

We have just stayed at The Boar's Head Hotel for two nights on our way home to Scotland. Glad we did. Really nice hotel set in a lovely village.
Our room was a superior double and it was perfect, overlooking the market cross. We found the staff very friendly and helpful from the minute we arrived. There was a lovely...

We are all delighted to read that you enjoyed your stay. Thanks for taking the time to post a review.I will be passing on your very positive comments to the staff including our "little pixie".It would appear that the "very patient young waiter" with the wine assistance needs to work on his customer care consistency as he was the same member...

We arrived at the hotel at 1300 hours on Saturday 15th October and we were welcomed and allowed to enter our room a little early. The room was small but nice and clean. We were booked into the bistro but after looking at the menu decided that the food wasnt to our pallet. After going into town for a lovely...

What can I say?
It would appear that the completely unprofessional and unacceptable manner of a single member of our staff has been solely responsible for not only spoiling your stay with us,but also damaging our reputation that the rest of The Team work so hard to maintain.
I offer my personal apology and assure you that this matter will...

We had had lunch at the Boars Head a couple of months ago, which was very enjoyable, so when we had Canadian friends staying with us we decided to book there for two nights.
The welcome was lukewarm - we felt the receptionist was doing us a favour by letting us stay. Our friends had a room in the main...

Thanks for taking the time to write a review.
I am sorry to read that there were aspects of your stay that did not meet with our usual high standards.
Our Head Receptionist who was told to "shut up",by one of the men in your group, when she tried to offer some support during a very vocal expression of his disappointment...

A clean, friendly and comfortable hotel in the heart of a stunning village within easy distance of Harrogate. We stayed on a Friday night and were dining elsewhere at night so only had chance to sample the full english breakfast. Quality ingredients, well cooked and efficient, friendly service. Left some property in one of the rooms. Rang following day to...
