We returned yesterday from a two week vacation at Cameleon Villas Jibacoa. The resort reopened from a six month closure on the day that we arrived (Nov. 1, 2009). The resort functioned smoothly from the moment that we arrived. We had a late evening arrival. A snack was waiting for us in our refrigerator. The lobby bar was “hopping”. The... more

Here I am again, writing a positive and realistic review of a resort..., although a few months late...., so that you TA viewers don't fear your choice in location/resort due to a the last negative review. My husband and I, along with a good friend stayed at Camelon Villa Jibacoa late last January. This was just before the reviewer of... more

Huge roaches in the rooms, crawled out of the drains. Nolitours lost my luggage. Bad weather, 9 degrees one day, overcast mostly. Couldn't swim, red flags every day due to jellyfish. People were ok, location was good, got to see Veredero and Havana as it is situated in the middle of the two. Food stunk, went hungry for the most... more

This was my first trip to Cuba, and I can't say enough good things about this place. The resort is a bit older and a no frills kinda place. Cameleon Villas Jibacoa may not have some of the services of a larger resort, or a resort elsewhere in the Carribian, but what it may not have in those areas it... more

Overall it was a nice resort. I will admit this was my first time to Cuba and I was disappointed with the resort at first. The food and that are not what I'm used to in Canada, but I grew on the place at the end of the week. A lot of visitors were returning and we became close with... more

For my first time in the south, I wasn't too sure what to expect and I didn't want to pay too much. We travelled with Nolitour, which offert in exclusivity the Cameleon Villas Jibacoa. It was an 1hour 20 minutes from the Varadero airport, but I found it nice to see what's around. The resort is really small but super... more

I've just returned from two weeks at CVJ Jibacoa: Apr 02 to Apr 16. This was my third stay in Jibacoa, once before at CVJ (Jan 08, two weeks) and once at Breezes (Oct 07 two weeks). My main reason for choosing this area is the availability of great coral reefs which are a very short swim from the beach.... more

Flight Booked with Air Transat /Nolitours- flew WestJet. The extra baggage allowance was great. Left on time and arrived in Varadero a few minutes early. We exchanged our money at the resort. If you wanted to do it at the airport you had to leave arrivals and go to the departures area of the airport and exchange cash there, not... more

My husband and I took our first trip to Cuba (or to anywhere for that matter) and stayed at this fantastic resort. We were there from April 9th to the 16th and had fantastic, sunny weather - not a drop of rain! Although I would have preferred it to be a little cooler than 40 degrees c in the sun,... more

I have just found out that CVJ will be closed from May 15 to November 2009. Not earning enough for the Cuban government, off season and with the subsidizing of Cuban guests, apparently...What a bummer, was looking forward to going back in early July. Went last year and loved the place, food, staff, Cuban families. Where else will we find... more
