This place is as awesome as everyone writes. We spent 6 days here early November in the tree house and everything was just wonderful. From the warm sea breeze that hits your face when you first arrive, to days of walking on the beach, the meals, and watching the pelicans fish. This place is so relaxing that we were almost... more

It is exactly what everyone has written. If you want utter relaxation away from everything and everybody this is the place for you! Its very beautiful and very quiet. I can't tell you how much my girlfriend and I enjoyed it. The drive may be a bit much, but it is well worth it in the end. The staff is... more

Oh where to start?! My boyfriend and I have been to Mexico a couple of times and had always stayed in an all-inclusive resort. This year however we opted to take the unbeaten path and we stumbled upon a little slice of paradise! You will take a long, bumpy ride down the Boca Pila road and when you think you've... more

Based on overall description from the owners we thought we're going to a paradise. Our first reaction when we got there was "can't stay here, we must leave now!". However within a day our attitude has changed to: "we love this place". The first negative impression negative reaction was due to the fact that the ground was littered with all... more

Xamach Dos is just about exactly what we wanted: plenty of peace and quiet in a setting with gorgeous Caribbean water, sky and breezes amid white coral sand and slender coconut palms. The food was excellent--the fish and shellfish come right from the sea. Francisca, the cook, and Margo, your host, have a great menu and the tastes are memorable.... more

We just returned from Xamach Dos last week and are still undergoing withdrawl symptoms. Even today the first thing my wife did was open her eyes and look for palm branches (none to found in Iowa) and attempt to recreate the fabulous coconut pancakes we had. We found Xamach Dos to be exactly what they represented on their website. It... more

Is it a primitive hotel accomodation? Or a luxurious camping experience? Depends upon how bad the mosquitoes are biting at the moment.....or how beautiful the sea looks in the morning from the dining cabana, with that fresh Carribean breeze cooling your face and and a hot cup of coffee warming your hands. Xamach Dos is a beautiful place. Margo is... more

My wife and I just recently returned from an amazing trip to Mexico to celebrate our 20th anniversary. Xamach Dos was a wonderful place to launch our journey. Margo, the site manager, and her staff were very friendly and welcoming. The food was absolutely delicious; every meal! The place has an energy that is perfect for couples or folks who... more

Well, we knew what to expect and we are easy to please...so is there anything bad at XD...well it depends on who you are and your definition of bad. If you like to be waited on hand and foot, well then yes it is bad. If you dont like fabulous traditional Mexican cuisine, then its bad. If you need to... more

We are a well-traveled couple and usually make a point of seeking out B&Bs, lodges and resorts that are off the beaten path, if not off the map. I write this purely for the enlightenment of would-be guests: Xamach Dos looked like it would be the perfect finale to a hot, dusty 10-day Yucatan tour of the Mayan ruins. The... more
