It might be a challenge to find, as Låktatjåkkostugan is spelled Låktatjåkkastugan on the official regional map over Lappland. Also, the alternative names for the mountain where this place is located may add some confusion for a first time visitor. We saw “official” names ranging from Låktajåkka and Låktatjåkko, to Loktacohkka. If you overcome this first challenge, however and follow my previously published recommendation to stay to the Björkliden-Låktatjåkka hike until the other side of the mountain is dry, then you will be wonderfully rewarded for your effort to come here. Sadly, many people just come over coffee/lunch, almost as if they would be in a rush somewhere. To me, that is like fast forwarding a good song, i.e. hardly an improvement. This rustic little arctic hotel from 1939 deserves better attention than that.
