Strongly recommend you make this wonderful corner of County Down your base for exploring the beauty of South Armagh, the Mournes and then on the other side of Carlingford Lough down to Dundalk and Drogheda. Meadowlea is the perfect resting place after taking in these lovely corners of Ireland - probably the best in the entire island. more

Just minutes from Rostrevor and Warrenpoint, "where the Mountains of Mourne sweep down to the sea," the setting of Meadowlea B and B is lovely.
There are only two rooms, each with a double and single bed, and ours had french windows looking out over the fields - complete with bunnies - to Carlingford lough and the mountains beyond. Peaceful and beautiful.
Visiting Meadowlea is like staying with a favourite aunt. Unlike many B and Bs these day specifically set up as such, Meadowlea appears to be a family home, with two rooms at one end of the house simply but tastefully converted for guests.
A breakfast room, again just for guests, also separates you from the rest of the house, but you enter and leave through the front door just like any member of the family without losing any of your own privacy.
Breakfast was delicious, the room comfortable, and the owners are friendly and helpful with any information they can give. And it doesn't even cost too...
