Talgarth is an undiscovered jewel in a beautiful part of Wales. The hotel itself lived up to all my expectations: warm, clean rooms with a comfortable bed. Me and a three friends were looking for somehere to stay to explore "The Black Mountains" of the Beacons on our bikes. With it's location i.e. close to the foot of Y-Das Mountain, The Tower Hotel was a great place to start and indeed finish our 30 mile tour. Was due to stay at The Tower Hotel whilst working at The Royal Welsh Show but thankfully didn't even get a chance to as the hotel screwed up my booking not once but twice! Who I assume was the propietor that I spoke to on the telephone was extremely rude and contradictory after previoulsy having told me something quite different... more
