In the small town of Madrid, Maine we found the Star Barn , a
very nice bed and breakfast deep in the heart of moose country, to be an excellent and reasonable place to stay for the
weekend. We slept in the "Moose is Loose" room. Decorated with a rustic moose theme, it was perfect, especially for our grandson who was traveling with us. Other rooms are more formal, decorated with antiques and things old. Each room has hand made quilts on the beds, a private bath, and even a gas fired "wood" stove for heating in colder weather. On the outside the B&B appears to be a barn. The interior is all new with parts of the original barn incorporated into the new building. It is very charming with comfortable living room, accessible dining room and a game room/loft on the second floor, where you can find all kinds of games and puzzles to play for one to many players.
