Ian and Lynne are great hosts and Ozy, their black labrador, is a star. I had a great stay with my husband. Lovely food, real ale and walks in the Quantock Hills. Breakfasts were superb with fresh eggs from their own chickens. Ian’s micro brewery was interesting and I enjoyed the real ale! Highly recommend it. Also the people in... more

Very relaxing.Small group of guests. Excellent walks and home brewed ale-both medium strength on my weekend! Good homemade food. Great value as all food and a fair amount of beer included. more

Made to feel very welcome, superb hosts, we did not expect to feel so relaxed so quickly. Would definitely recommend giving Ian full permission to cook what ever he wants for you, you won't be disappointed! more

We visited Nether Stowey as the base point for our walks. We were a party of 4 and for the majority of us this was the first time we had been to this part of Somerset and I am please we went to this beautiful part of the country. Althought we arrived in bad weather the rest of the Easter... more

We were welcomed warmly, our hosts chatted with us during dinner, which they ate with everyone staying at The Old Cider House. Ozy, their dog, cleared the table napkins for them, as a retriever taking them happily back to the kitchen! We had a delicious dinner and breakfast, and some delightful wines. Definitely somewhere we will return to! more

I chose a two night break at The Old Cider House as a work-related prize. My boyfriend and I were welcomed by two friendly hosts and the star of the house, Ozy the black labrador. We stayed in the Poets Room, which was very clean and comfortable. There were a few noises from the plumbing but this was hardly surprising... more

Really nice B&B. We stayed in one of the smaller rooms and it was extremely clean, tidy and comfortable. The owners are friendly and helpful without being intrusive; my boyfriend now wants to start brewing his own beer after seeing Ian's microbrewery. Breakfast was lovely, we had a full english and there was museli, grapefruit and yogurt too. The brandy... more

We stayed for 2 nights and had a reasonable welcome, but our initial thoughts were that the leaflet sent which had no photographs just drawings was very deceiving. The room was large and comfortable. No blind in the bathroom that overlooked the front! and a saniflow in the bathroom becauase their waste pipes aren't large enoughe.Awful grinding sounds even just from waste water.This... more

It is always disappointing to receive a mediocre review, especially when we put so much effort into an evening. Unfortunately, guests do not appreciate that any special event involves a great deal of work and cost and, for this evening, we not only produced a five (not four) course meal, bellini cocktails, wines with each course including a St Emilion...

My husband always has his birthday in December (difficult!)and as a change to going to the theatre, for example, I was looking for somewhere that had good food and easy access to good walking country within our home county of Somerset. The Old Cider House did not disappoint. Friday nights eastern european menu of a wonderful smoky cabbage soup and... more
