My mother and i stayed here overnight on a trip to Newcastle. We were told it had only recently been taken over by the Mercure. It was nothing like the previous posts here so i hope no one takes notice of them now as it is improving by the sounds of it! Obviously there is still work to be done... More

We booked this hotel last minute as a place close to the location we required. We had a standard room on the ground floor. There was no actual information about the hotel and the serrvices that it provided in the rooms. The hotel served its purpose, the room was outdated and the carpet was very stained, however the bathroom was... More

No info pack, plaster crumbling, dirty old bug squashed on blanket, toilet not working properly, pathetic iron ruined my skirt, blanket to small for the bed, worst restaruant we ever went to. We were given the meal at the restaruant after complaining and refusing to pay but went to bed hungry as it was inedible. I then got a blanket... More

Room is comfortable but the wifi is not strong enough unless you take your laptop close to the terminal in the reception area to get a useable signal.

We stayed in two separate rooms as they didn't have a family room available. That was fine but the rooms weren't. Mould in bathroom on ceiling and in shower. None of the dispensers had anything in them. A/C noisy but worked. The place was built in 1981 and its still trapped there. Cigarette butts outside each room door in McDonalds... More

Our one night stay was perfectly fine. We had an executive room, while not a large room it was clean and tidy. Could not find any in-room information book for information on the restaurant menu, motel info, etc.The room was nice and cool upon our arrival as the air conditioner had been turned on for us. The bathroom was spotlessly... More

Walked into $125/night room and found: - baby cockroach on bed -huge cockroach in bathroom -room smelled like cigarettes -balcony had cigarette butts all over it and a used Mcdonalds cup half full of butts (reported to reception and was apologised to and promised to clean up but no offers/discounts/vouchers) -breakfast menu was crumpled and had been wet and dried... I stayed here for a night and found it very satisfactory. Nice clean rooms, friendly staff and good food in restaurant. Very nice view of Newcastle from the restaurant, especially at night. I don't know how old this place is, but it looks like it's been extensively renovated fairly reacently.

We stayed at the Madison last weekend 27/8/2011. We had to book there as a last minute as we were to attend a service for my grandmothers partner who passed away suddenly. We booked two executive rooms as my son & his girlfriend were with us. The motel couldnt put us next door to each other but they put us... More

My husband booked a night away for us as a romantic getaway. We were placed in the New Orleans Suite which smelt of smoke even though it was a non smoking room. There was not a table and chair in the room. The phone did not work when we tried to call reception about the poor telelvison reception. We were offered... More
