I had the good fortune to stay at the Mount Cashel property with some friends of mine. It was absolutely perfect. We were able to make many day trips in all directions over a 10 day period. There was ample space for 5 adults with the four bedrooms. It was fabulous to have the common area with living room, kitchen... More

I have no other definition for it. The property, the owners, the house (we rented the stables) and the dogs were just perfect!!! After traveling around the globe several times and renting homes in over 34 countries I must say this is one of the few I would rent over and over. I am already planning a late summer trip.... More

We have enjoyed stays in both the Lodge and the Stables during our visits to Mt. Cashel, and each time we leave our kids ask if we can move there. There is a lot to do within a close driving radius (Burren, day trip to the Aran Islands, etc) but the property itself is a great place to relax and... More

My husband had business in Ireland for 3 months in the Shannon region from July 2010-October 2010. We knew it would be a once in a lifetime experience, so we decided to take the whole family, which includes 2 children(ages 5 & 3). We knew we could not stay in a hotel, so we began the search for the perfect... More

There is a certain something about Ireland and its people that captures the imagination for many on this side of the Atlantic. Its lure and its lore. Its many legends... and leprechauns! But beyond imagination is the genuine hospitality of the Irish. That is what draws us.... those of us who wish to be part of the land, reconnect with... More

I traveled here with a group. The accommodations were ok. The beds were so-so and we had to shower in shifts to make sure we had enough hot water. It all worked out ok, using shifts and making sure the dishwasher was not run before anyone showered etc. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, well maintained and tranquil. We also thought... More

Dear reviewer, We are sorry and surprised to read that you did not enjoy your experience at Mount Cashel self-catering accommodation. The property plumbing is designed for 4 simultaneous showers, however the hot water tank needs to replenish thereafter for approx 30 minutes. This is standard for self-catering in Ireland which is not hotel standard. We regularly have two families... More

Mt. Cashel was probably our favorite place to stay while in Ireland. The lodge is decorated as though the owner lives there. The fridge was stocked with milk, juice and butter. Cookies and bread as well as tea supplies were there for us. What a welcoming place! We enjoyed rowing on the lake as well. The hosts Pat and Annette... More

We had a wonderful weekend at Mt Cashel. Good facilities. Quiet location. Beautiful lake. Good for fishing, walking, cycling, relaxing. Sixmilebridge at 3k for shopping etc. Limmerick at 20k to go out. Shannon airport at 20k. (Rental) car is convenient, taxi available at Sixmilebridge (also 7 seater). Very friendly owners. More
