We loved this hotel, don't know where to start, everything was perfect. Room was really nice and clean with european style bathroom (big plus in Thailand) with balcony overlooking swimming pool and TV with English speaking channels. Having read previous reviews I was expecting something 'tired' and in need of updating...in part this was true, however, what I did find was the people going out of their way to make both Christmas and New Year a time to remember. Serene Resort is exactly that. Beautiful lush gardens, centrally located and deserves more than the 2 1/2 star rating. Very clean, friendly staff and lovely breakfast. I will be returning to the Serene for sure. more

Me and my wife stayed here for one week last year. The room was nice. Four stars to the room and two stars to the restroom. There is a road very close to the hotel and you have to walk on this road when you are going to the beach. Be careful, there are no sidewalk. Breakfast is served in... more

I read the reviews before I left and thought, ummmm, fingers crossed they are wrong. They weren't. Very very old and run down. The rooms are actually not too bad.
