Winner of the Cumbria Tourism 'Self Catering Holiday of the Year' 2010, 2012 & 2014. Highly Commended at Visit England National Awards 2013. Tottergill Farm is set in beautiful Cumbrian countryside. Our location is truly peaceful and tranquil with stunning views of the lake district hills, the Solway Firth and the Scottish hills to the north. All our cottages have inclusive central heating, log burning stoves, private gardens and complimentary use of the leisure club at a local hotel including swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi, gym, steam room etc. Four of our cottages have their own private hot tubs. There are many excellent walks right from your cottage door. Our peaceful rural location also attracts an abundance of birds and other wildlife including red squirrels, deer, badgers, foxes, hares etc. A truly great place for a relaxing holiday.

Just returned today from a short break here and stayed in Oak Cottage, it was wonderful everything you could possibly need was supplied, it was immaculate. We really enjoyed using the Hot Tub and the wood burning fire it was so cosy. Hopefully we will soon return for a longer spell. Thank you to our very welcoming hosts. On our first evening we had a meal at the Duke of Cumberland pub, delicious food and very welcoming staff.

This is a wonderful place to stay. Location is spectacular, magnificent views in every direction. The accommodations were extremely comfortable and gorgeous throughout. There was a problem with a drain in the bathroom. Immediately there was a plumber on site and we were moved to another of the properties. Stuff happens , but the response to a problem will tell you all you need to know! The owners wanted to make sure we had a great experience and went over and above our expectations to ensure that this was the case! If you get the chance to stay here you will not be disappointed.

Perfect location to see all the breathtaking views and Castle Carrock reservoir which is at the bottom of the long drive way up to the cottages. Gill cottage was where we recently stayed for 4 nights ideal for us two and our small dog Added luxury of the hottub on the decking area , log burning stove keeping the cottage ,even more cosy on an evening. Tracey the owner .(unfortunately we didn't meet her husband) Was so friendly and very accommodating. Made us feel very welcome. Would highly recommend Tottergill Farm Cottages to anyone even with or without a dog. Ideal place to get away from the hustle and bustle of every day life We will be back if we're ever in the area again. Thankyou for having us.x

Another superb family break at tottergill. Stayed for half term week in low barn cottage.. been done up since we last stayed and looking really good… complimentary brownies were gorgeous…visited duke of Cumberland pub which was really nice.. 20 minute walk in heavy rain and wind lol but well worth it..also used leisure facilities at crown hotel which is complimentary for guests from tottergill… visited Carlisle couple of times, metro centre in Gateshead and Newcastle (all for shopping with wife and 2 daughters)…can’t rate this place highly enough and the hosts Tracey and barnaby…we have previously stayed for 4 nights and so glad we stayed for 7 this time …

Where do I start? My friends and I have just returned from a three night stay in Garth Cottage at Tottergill Farm. It was our first visit and we will definitely be back again. Firstly, the Cottage was amazing. It's a lovely size, plenty of space for four and it has a lovely log fire. We followed Barnaby's instructions and on our first night, after soaking in the hot tub, we sat in front of the log fire with a glass of prosecco. The kitchen was very well equipped and the bedding was lovely. There was a detailed guide in the kitchen for things to do which we found very useful with it being our first time in the area. The brownies left in our cottage for us for our last night were a lovely surprise and delicious. The views from the cottage and the hot tub were amazing. Everyone was very friendly and helpful and the attention to detail was fantastic. We were really looking forward to a relaxing break and that's exactly what we got. Thank you so much for giving us such a wonderful break. Can't wait to return.

Just got back from a 4 night stay at Tottetgill and already can't wait to go back! We stayed in Low Barn, think the others are more modern inside but we loved the character and the features in this one. There is everything you need when you get there, pots, pans, utensils even a dvd player with selection of dvds (my kids actually thought this was brilliant as they have never used a dvd player before!ha) The whole cottage was clean and such a lovely touch with the doggy pack and yummy brownies!!!!! The walk down the lane to the local pub is lovely, it's very dog friendly. Tracey was so nice and helpful and all the other staff we meet were really friendly. The only thing (my kids) complained about was the WIFI. It didn't bother me at all as I found it great that we actually had proper family time playing board games and talking but just be aware its not the best if you plan to be on the Internet alot. It really is a such a lovely traditional un-touristy place, highly recommend Hadrian's Wall and Talkin Tarn Park. Can't wait to go back, thank you for a fantastic holiday xx

Just got back from a two night stay at Tottergill Farm. What a fabulous place and would highly recommend. Tracey couldn’t do enough for us. We stayed in Orchard House which was beautifully decorated and had the most amazing views. Sitting in the hot tub at the end of the day overlooking the views with a glass of champagne was just magical. The only noise we could hear was the sound of the sheep and the birds singing. Cannot wait to go back with our children and puppy.

Just back from a lovely relaxing 3 day break at Tottergill Farm. Yes the weather wasn't great for late April but that didn't spoil a great getaway. We were met by Tracey who showed us around Mill Barn, we had booked for 6 but ended up only being 2 of us and the dog. The doggie welcome pack and towel is a lovely addition. What a lovely place, we only needed to use the top of the house for us but it's a perfect place for 2 families, very comfortable and lovely touches in every room. Great enclosed secure garden for dogs as well. Both Tracey and Barnaby were really friendly and helpful. The views were spectacular, no photos can do them justice and we enjoyed our first evening with some sunshine, chilling in the big hot tub on the veranda watching the lambs playing in the field next to us. Everything you need is in the property, it wants for nothing, and the welcome brownies were very much appreciated, sorry Tracey we ate them all! The walk down to the reservoir is minutes and it's not far to the local village of Castle Carrock, although we did discover the local pub didn't open on Mondays and Tuesdays. Nevermind, just meant a longer walk back up the hill and down to the cottages. Only problem we had, which no-one would have been able to do anything about, was the birds trying to get back into the barn through the bottom patio doors, presumably to their original nesting place. Lovely to see the wildlife though and we heard cuckoos as well as seeing one of the deer on the way back one afternoon. Lovely place, lovely people and we will be back one day.

I spent a long weekend up at Tottergill just before Christmas , I stayed in Oak Cottage which was absolutely divine , cozy and 5 star luxury! The owners where helpful and accommodating and answered any questions I had about the local area , we ventured into Carlisle and ate at the Andalusian Tapas bar and Restaurant which was outstanding ( so fortunate that Carlisle was tier 2 ) The hot tub was brill and easy to navigate Tottergill is the perfect holiday location and a great alternative this coming summer Thank you for a lovely pre lockdown break
