We stayed at the Sunset Beach Guest Lodge for a few nights before we started our trip along the Garden Route. We found it to be very beautiful and very well maintained, and we found the staff to be lovely and the meals delicious (we only had breakfast, though other meals were available some nights of the week). It was... More

What a wonderful location - right on the beach and with lovely views of the ocean! Dave was a great host - showed us the rooms and organised a horse ride on Noordhoek beach the following day. (Sleepy Hollow horse rides) The rooms are white white white! The only room in which I've ever needed to wear my sunglasses! :-)... More

I can not believe the luck we had, finding Sunset beach guest house! It's absolutely fantastic and it was a lovely start on our trip in the Cape town area. We stayed at Sunset beach in Kommetjie for four nights in February/March and really, really loved it and hated to have to leave after only 4 days. Kommetjie is a... More

The last two nights of our trip (ending Nov. 14, 2008) we spent in Kommetjie at the Sunset Beach house. It is absolutely beautiful! Small beach house (max 10 guest), in the dunes at a lovely white beach, near Cape Town. The rooms have a stunning view (see the pictures). Staff is friendly and professional, everything is clean and nice.... More

We will go back, it's a matter of when. The experience was wonderful for us. (2 adults and 3 kids.) Clean friendly safe with one of the best beaches we have experienced. Great place to stop out of Cape Town and start the Garden Route. Steps to the beach and return to a fantastic dinner. Stayed 2 nights.... not enough.... More

We found a picture of the Sunset Beach House in an interior magazine and fell in love with it. That's where we wanted to stay. The Sunset Beach House has a wonderful location, right on the beach of Kommetjie which is a good hide out to explore Cape Town and environment. Unfortunately it is clear that the owners of the... We (28 and 26 years) stayed there for 2 nights at the end of our 3 weeks South Africa roundtrip - it was the best choice we could ever made! This house is simply amazing, step in and you'll feel relaxed, comfortable and just great. The rooms are very clean, stylish and comfy - the best mixture ever of laid... More

Just south of Cape Town central, we found this guest house in most of the guide books - so gave it a try - and what a pleasure. Right on the beach, friendly hosts, our own personal chef too ! Our kids enjoyed the toy box in the family room - and what stunning views - we were able to... More

The photos are far from the truth. We found the place to be drab and neglected. The food was so-so, but the wines great. I would advise the owners to upgrade the management. They made it feel like some third-rate establishment. Service was exceptionally bad. At the astronomic prices they charge, the service should be first-class. We could have gotten... More

Loved it here, really a great get away, far from the main tourist areas, so a great honeymoon or couples place. Stunning location right on the beach, lovely guest house which is beautifully decorated in beach house style!! So peaceful, the chef was really great, preparing wonderful fresh meals for the handful of guests. If you like to feel alone... More
