I recognise all the faults in the bad review below. In particular the so called head waiter has not seen the criticisms or has ignored them. He is not a very nice person. I think it speaks volumes when you have a cracked hand-basin and brown stains in the toilet bowl.

This was a return visit to this family owned hotel and once again in was most enjoyable. Very friendly staff and a beautiful quiet location 10 minutes outside of Trier proper. The hotel restaurant serves up a decent dinner and breakfast, reasonably priced. The rooms are only OK (clean but not luxurious), although ours did have a pleasant view of the outside waterwheel.
