On way back from furthest tip of cornwall holiday cottage, we took the road less travelled and skirted the coast for the day, stopping at great beaches and seaside villages. We stayed here as a base for the eden project the next day. The pub is great. 12th century, so you have to mind your head in places, but had... More

We also experienced the aggressive Jack Russell! But our experience wasn't spoiled. Lovely location and a beautiful pub. Rooms in a separate building seemed newly refurbished & to a high standard. Rooms very clean, fresh and comfortable. It was nice to be slightly removed from pub noise & smells Food varied from excellent (seafood tagliatelle, special of the day) to... More

The inn dates from the 12th century and its low roofed rambling bar certainly looks the part. Great character and very cosy with several fireplaces. The rooms themselves are in a separate building out in the back garden and are very comfortable, though small. No wi-fi unfortunately but plenty of power points and a hot shower (though pressure not great).... More

We spent a very enjoyable two night break here in late March. The accommodation rooms in the garden were excellent and despite the weather outside being rather cold the room was very warm and inviting. The welcome in the pub itself was very friendly and the food excellent. This is a great base for visiting the Eden Project and many... More

We had a couple of nights here mid-march. Room was very good and the staff were very welcoming. We had a bit of an issue with one of the meals on the first night but the response was very professional and in no way did we feel uncomfortable complaining (we're not very good at that!). We weren't charged for the... More

We were very impressed with this charming pub with the cosy rooms/eating areas and lovely fire. It was a suggestion to go there by our friend Aud and her hubby Mr I, who had just been to the post office to collect their pension. They usually like to go out on a Thursday to eat, but we could only make... More

The Crown Inn is a traditional English pub in a pretty village, with plenty of character and charm, perfect for walkers and visitors to the nearby Lanhydrock House. It can get busy, but it's at its best when quiet. Inside is cosy and warm, with a log fire and corners to curl up in. While there, you should definitely try... More
