Hotel situated in a nice location overlooking a small lake, if ur lucky enough to get a room overlooking the lake the views are magnificent. Just over five minute walk to the beach and shops. The beach can be very busy, loungers costing anything upto 10euros for the day. Shops consist of overpriced Spar shops, souvineir shops and car rentals.... more

Arrived at the hotel at 11.50pm to find there was no room for us and had to spend the first night in another hotel approx 200metres away and couldn't get into our room until the following afternoon, so we lost a day of our holiday. As a result got upgraded to all inclusive, apparently this is a regular occurance here.... more

Stayed at the Amapola in July 2007 and had a really good time. Hotel was very clean, rooms very nicely furnished and close to beach and amenities, yet far enough back to be nice and quiet at night. We stayed at the Grupotel Amapola from 8 - 15 July 2006 and had an excellent time. The hotel has alot of German guests but this did not put us off. The staff were very accomodating and we checked in around 1.30am due to getting lost but this was not a problem for the staff. The room was lovely,small but... more

We booked a last minute deal to the amapola and after reading some of the negative comments i was slightly concerned. Upon arrival we were greeted by a pleasant rep at a clean and well presented hotel. We were checked in quickly and directed to our room. Great three star hotel ,very clean ,food good , would recommend even though the clients are mostly german . Ask for a pool view ,its really panoramic with mountains and lakes in the distance. Great for all budding artists. more
