Quite mixed feeling about his resort. A lovely property, nice rooms, a beautiful beach but there were a few things that I did not like. First, if you are a beach lover, this is not the place for you. There is a gorgeous beach but the hotel does not have any chairs on the beach. The ocean was quite rough... more

I've stayed at the JW Phuket a total of three times over the past three years, and though I still think it is phenomenal, it has noticeably slipped over that time. First the positives. The resort is well-maintained. The rooms are spacious. The facilities are robust for a resort, i.e. lots of activities, private beach, two pools (one for everyone... more

the hotel is very very huge. with a buggie to take you to your room, the restaurants and the reception. a room next to the beach is preferable. the perl museum is at a short distance by cab from the hotel and so are other attractions. more

Lovely place for kids. Large pools, one with a water slide. Lime ice at lunchtime by the kids pool. Playroom was great for 3 years and up. Not recommended for less than 3 years old. Nice sized gym. Played tennis at 8am and it was HOT. Very well appointed room with a box window for relaxing with a book. The... more

We stayed at the JW Marriott during April 2009 over Easter/Songkran and had overall an excellent family holiday but........ The Hotel is located on a large complex north of the airport, approx. 15 minutes away, and will take a good day (and a map) to orientate yourself around the grounds. Even then you won't see all the facilities on offer.... more

We have just got back from the J W Marriott in Phuket. Although the place is very relaxing and quite the hotel completely hammers your wallet. They charge 170 baht for a bottle of French water 1.5lt thats without the 10% service charge and then the local taxes which then amounts to something like 272 baht around £5.90 in pounds.... more

This is a fantastic getaway - secluded with a private beach. Lots of activities with excellent facilities for children. Lovely restaurants ... although, the outdoor ones can be a menace to eat with flies buzzing all over the food. Personally, I don't believe most of south east asia is conducive to outdoor dining round-the-year given the weather ... but for... more

It was quiet when we first arrived but became really packed after a few days (but it was easter + Thai new year. Booked through Marriott's website. Took the Marriott rewards card which gives 10% off price of the room and restaurants bills. We were put in a standard room which was very nice and spatious, featuring a king size bed, a very large bathroom with bath tub and shower, a small balcony. Compared to other 5 star hotels I found them a... more
