We chose the Hollow Bottom because of its horseracing connections and had a great time. We were in the 'Mrs Muck' room and thought the decor was great and the ensuite bathroom very spacious. We booked last minute to stay for two nights. Easy to find, very sleepy village accessed by narrow country lanes in the middle of nowhere (which was what we wanted). We were warmly greeted on arrival and liked the old fashion charm of the pub. Our room was basic but comfortable the private bathroom was not ideal as we would have preferred an ensuite but apart from a dodgy door lock we managed. There were nice touches in our room i.e. fresh fruit and bottled water these were replenished daily.... more
