The Rock Classic Hotel is on the edge of the bush in Uganda. Tororo is a small African town and so visitors must adjust their expectations. That said, the Rock delivers good service, even with some quirks. First, the good service. The front desk personnel are honest and will return monies that are overpaid (Ugandan shillings operate in huge denominations). The restaurant staff works hard to deliver good food on time for large groups. (No one ever got sick eating their food, not even the fresh fruit.) The hotel staff is honest, as well -- they returned a wallet left behind with all the money still intact. The staff is also cheerful and the rooms are generally clean. But the quirks do take some getting used to. The internet will probably not work for guests, so don't count on that, even if it is advertised.
