The owner of the property was very welcoming and friendly. The quality of the food was excellent and the bedroom was very clean and tidy. Ale was not available on tap but there was a reasonable selection of bottled beers. Slight pricy but not excessively so.

Very convenient overnight stop directly on the Thames Path. Owner was very welcoming although we were a bit early for the 4.00pm check in. Rooms were a bit sparse and the one facing the main road made it a bit noisy although traffic was light during the night. Rooms however were clean and tidy. Investment in new TV for rooms... More

........as boaters off the nearby river Thames The Kingfisher was a disappointment. Having moored for the night we walked the Thames path hoping for a good selection of ale and food. We were v disappointed when we arrived only lager on tap and food only for residents. And directions to another eatery that did not seem to exist. Disappointing all... More

This inn is next to the bus stop so very accessible from Reading or Oxford. Nice surrounding countryside and villages. Friendly staff, nice clean comfortable room, ensuite, nice breakfast. Would recommend for people needing a reasonably-priced base in the Oxfordshire area. It is on a main road so there is traffic going past.

A lovely clean no-nonsense place to stay. Alexis was a great host and Mayumi cooks a marvelous breakfast ! The hotel is in a beautiful location only 100 metres from the Thames and there are some lovely walks. We would definitely stay there again. John Cheryl and David.

We were having dinner at the nearby Crazy Bear restaurant and decided to stay at the Kingfisher Inn for one night. What a lovely place with a very nice host, Alexis. Room was large and airy, nicely decorated and spotlessly clean. There were Tea/coffee making facilities in the room with chocolates plus complimentary bottles of water which were all very... More

We arrived at 11:30 on the day of a lunch booking at le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons, i.e. long before the earliest check-in time advertised by the Kingfisher. However the room was ready and we were welcomed warmly. After the long le Manoir lunch we returned to the Kingfisher and were given good advice about a walk along the Thames path,... More

My Husband and I stayed here for 2 nights last weekend so that we were close to Le Manoir where my Husband attended a cookery course. This place is charming, spotless and our room was well equipped, well proportioned and well decorated. Alexis was a great host, very accommodating and very knowledgable about the area, he recommended places to go... More

What a great way to spend a relazing weekend in Transit from the US to Asia. Ideally located less than an hour from Heathrow walking distance to the Thames Path, this B&B/Hotel was a great break in the middle of a long trip. Dinner was excellent, Breakfast even better, the room comfortable, and the hospitality exceptional. A chat at the... More

Charming hosts, lovely room and excellent breakfasts. We would definitely come back here and hope to return when they serve meals again - their new baby has put a stop to that for the moment!
