Our first vacation in Ireland (10 days) became an unforgettable experience. The house is located in an beautifull valley and invites you for feeling fine. The rooms are tastefully furnished and, as well as the bath, are well-kept and clean. Breakfast leaves nothing to be desired. If you don't get enough to eat it is your own fault. Directly from... more

Derrymore is ideally situated for exploring Glendalough and the Wicklow hiking trails, with a trail entrance just yards from the B&B, as well as a good base for checking out the rest of the region. Pat and Penny were terrific, offering great directions in advance and being very helpful during our stay. The one thing I would say, which I'm... more

A friend and I traveling in Ireland recently stayed at Derrymore so we could explore Glendalough the next day. We stayed only one night, but Penney went out of her way to make it a memorable stay. The room was clean, and in our case, spacious. I didn't see other rooms, but ours was a family room with 3 beds.... more

Gorgeous facility in a breathtaking location. You are within an easy walk of the many hiking trails in the Glendalough Valley, and most rooms in the guesthouse have terrific views of the scenery. The facility is charming and well-kept up, very cozy and elegant. The price is much better than many of the surrounding options as well. The family that... more

The reviewer has made some kind remarks about their stay with us in our home. He / she has taken the time and trouble to do so and we are particularly happy, that overall, they seem to have enjoyed their stay with us in the magical valley of Glendalough. However, no matter how much head scratching that we do, we...

We stayed two nights in May 2009 at Derrymore B&B and it was great. The room was clean and well appointed. Pat & Penny were wonderful hosts. Breakfast in the morning was good, try to sit in an alcove window over looking the upper lake. Pat was very helpful before we even arrived with driving directions via email. Penny was... more

Derrymore Bed and Breakfast, situated above Glendalough's Lower Lake, is a marvelous accommodation in a magical location. If you are looking for leprechauns, fairies, or wood sprites, this would be the place to search. The forested environs are replete with lakes, babbling streams, and waterfalls. The nearby Glendalough Visitor's Center provides ample walking and hiking opportunities, some of which will... more

My wife and I stayed at the Derrymore hotel on May 15th for two nights. It was more of a pilgrimage to locate my Great Great Grandparents and their ancesters from Seven Churches Wicklow and the hotel could not have been better positioned for access to St Kevin's Monastic Church. Both Pat & Penny were Impecable hosts and assited us... more

This B & B was in a beautiful spot right by the Glendalough lake and our room had a lovely view. Our room and the house were warm and charming and the home made cake provided was a nice touch. Our host was friendly and served a lovely breakfast every day with lots of choice! more

110% clean, cosy en-suite bedroom. Cold welcome by the host as we arrived later in the evening (still daylight) than they expected. However no arrival time was fixed previously. Wonderful view from the dining room to the opposite hill and to the lake underneath in mornings. Perfect location, the house locates right next to one of the main walking trails. more
