Stayed here in March 09 and several times over last few years.

Good as a stopping off point to visit various locations in south Donegal, Leitrim and North Sligo. Driving distance to the busy town of Bundoran for example. Easiest if you've got a car to get there as it's away from most major roads, although it seems to be used by various ramblers and cycalists as well. Family room can sleep 6 in bunks.

Community run hostel, friendly staff. Shared kitchen also means that you get to have a chat with various fellow travellers.

Would suite anyone wanting to get away from crowds or with children as it's not usually too busy.

The four of us stayed at the Benwiskin Centre in early April for one night. We found the accommodation to be very good - very well stocked kitchen, lovely rooms and large common areas. We were really impressed to see the high level of recycling and sustainable practices that go on at the Centre - grey water systems, rubbish sorting facilities etc. This is definitely a draw for staying here.

My one complaint would be the distance out from any major town. It is close to Kinlough Village which has a small supermarket, but other than that it's pretty much in the middle of nowhere. This would make it a great location for a school class camp or perhaps corporate teambuilding retreats, but not so good for holiday makers. As it was, we stayed there as a stopover on the way from Cork to Ennis. We would not have stayed there for any more than that.

Overall we had a pleasant stay and would reccommend the Benwiskin Centre if the reason for staying there was appropriate.
