We reached Marsh Mere Lodge in Aurhurtown by the Passage East ferry. We travel by following our noses. We found the B&B through exploration. Our destination was Hook Head, the oldest lighthouse in Europe. It is also still fully operable. We found so many more treasures along the way. Claire the owner of the B&B was the perfect hostess. She... More

We stayed here while attending a wedding in Dunbrody house. We were amazed at how beautiful this house it. It is full of beautiful antiques and family heirlooms which made you feel like you were staying somewhere extra special. Claire was extremely welcoming and friendly. The beach across the road and surroundings are peaceful and beautiful. This B&B was also... More

As I am a nervous flyer I am always looking for good "staycations" and couldn't recommend this great B&B more highly. Absolutely loved the views and there is a real home-ly feel to it. Thought it was really well run and in a great location. Was able to walk from the B&B up to Dunbrody house for lunch and even... More

Have just spent 2 nights in Claires wonderful b&b, have to say do not agree with the last reviewer, who described Marsh Mere as old fashioned, this is misleading, Claires home is more akin to a Pandoras box, an Aladdins cave of beautiful hand picked objects, our bedroom was beautiful, perfect in everyway right down to the balcony with panaromic views... Stayed here for one night in February as a last minute thing as I had to stay in the area a night longer than originally planned. It's a pleasant and well located B&B. The decor and furnishings are somewhat 'old fashioned' in style, and if you like that kind of thing you will be very happy here. The location overlooking... More

Claire was an absolutely wonderful host, kitting out some of our party with forgotten wedding items and tying everyone's bow ties. The house is lovely, rooms big. Tea was served to us in our rooms and Claire turned on all our electric blankets for when we came in. Breakfast was also wonderful, I can honestly say it was one of... More

We have enjoyed a wonderful stay at the Marshmere Lodge. Overlooking the bay at Arthurstown, it was a beautifully picturesque and tranquil location. Clare was the most fantastic host and her sumptuous breakfast were amazing. Situated on the Hook Peninsula it is ideal for exploring many of the local sights and attractions in the area. We loved the style and... More

Fantastic couple of nights. Clare was a wonderful host. Great breakfast. Well worth a visit in the SE of Ireland. Within walking distance of Dunbrody House - wonderful bar food. Strongly disagree with Olivias review as 2 out of 5 is no way near a fair reflection of this fabulous B+B.

This was our second visit to Marshmere and on arrival we were greeted like long lost friends. We were in the area to visit the Tall Ships festival in Waterford and from our previous visit we knew that the front porch of Marshmere would provide a perfect viewpoint over the bay from which to watch the tall ships going to...
