We booked the Coach House at Kilmokea because we were looking for luxury accommodations and wanted the spa, pool, gardens and rooms as advertised on the web site, and recommended by Karen Brown (on the cover) and Fodor's travel guides. The rooms were shabby (my bath had a bad odor coming from the shower drain and tepid water), the kitchen... more

We were very disappointed with our self catering coach house. The location is somewhat out of the way but when we booked this place we knew that. The services were lacking on many levels. When we asked for firewood we were told to go to the barn and could only find logs 4-5 feet in length. Nothing chopped to fit... more

We stayed for two enjoyable nights after picking Kilmokea House from the Hidden Ireland brochure. The place wasn't particularly hard to find by day, although it could have been a bit more of a challenge at night. We received a warm welcome on arrival from Mark Hewlett (who owns and runs Kilmokea with his wife Emma), and got a mini-tour... more

I stayed for one night in June - on my way back to Rosslare. The location is stunning - the house is stunning and gardens are beautiful. On reflection, and in comparison to other places I stayed in across Ireland, it was a tad expensive for what it was. I was on my way back to Rosslare to catch the... more

My wife and myself spent 2 nights at Kilmokea Country House. The house has an old world charm and we found it quite cosy and friendly and enjoyed chatting with the owners and some of the other guests. It was the end of October and so was very quiet. Th gardens are fantastic. Having been shown to our room, we... more

My wife and I decided to have a romantic night away from the kids and found what we thought looked like a high standard country house and the price certainly suggested so. Upon arrivel we were greated by Mark who showed us around ,everything looked great. We had a nice swim but had to pay an extra €20 for half... more

The house was charming with acres of magnificent gardens. When we arrived we were met by Mark Hewlett who immediatly made us feel at home and offered us afternoon tea. Our bedroom was beautifully decorated and very... more

Stayed here for a night in August of this year with my two sisters and my five year old nephew. Arrived at around 3pm - nobody to greet us. My sister and I had a room in the courtyard which was part of a self-catering house with the connecting door locked. We could clearly hear the family next door. The... more

In spite of explicit directions from Mark and Emma the owners of Kilmokea House and Gardens, we got lost in what must be worst county in Ireland for meandering roads with few or no signposts, however we arrived a little after 3pm and were met by a friendly member of staff who took us to the conservatory for complimentary tea... more

I sayed here recently with my wife and 20 month old son on a short tour of Ireland. All I can say is absolute bliss. The manor house and gardens which are open to the public are lovingly maintained by Mark and Emma who have 3 young children of their own. They immediately made us feel welcome and almost part... more
