My husband took me to stay here for my 25th birthday, and it turned out to be the perfect evening. On arrival we were greeted by a very friendly male host, who was available throughout our stay. We stayed in room 4 - 'The County Cottage Room,' and thats exactly what it was. It was a very beautiful, traditional room with stone walls, wooden doors and floral soft furnishings. There was a large double bed, a small TV (which you would never need!!), a (very comfortable) sofa for 2 people, an open fire place, tea/coffee making facilities, a storage cupboard and a large bathroom with both a bath and shower. It was a large room, with plenty of space and overwhelmingly different from the bog standard hotel room.
We opted to eat dinner here and were very glad we did. The food was the best I have ever had anywhere. We headed towards the bar around 7pm and were taken to a lovely drawing room at the front of the house overlooking the gardens. We had soft seats right beside the...
