Well I would recommend the visit to Narayan Niwas Palace to people who would like to have both village and exotic holiday. The best thing about the castle is the colourful wall paints and designs which you can see in the rooms and the intricate design /construction of the entire castle. The barren land mystifies you and the landscape will... More

I visited this virtual hideout castle just the last weekend and and was smitten by the rustic charm, the royal rooms, and unbelievable heavenly treatment by its owner Thakur Maheshji! From the food, to the picnic lunch arranged for us, to the royal rooms with old world charm, to the first class service provided by the Thakurs-everything about this place... More

Staying at the Narayan Niwas Castle gave us a first hand experience of life, past and present, in Mehansar. Not only are you emerged into the rich local history, but the hospitality of Maheshwar Singh and his kind wife bring you into a personal history. This makes the Narayan Niwas Castle so unique. The castle itself is beautiful. Steep stairways... More

My first visit to Narayan Niwas and its worth many more visits. An amazing place that takes one back in time, away from the fast paced lives in the city. Very good service including amazing homemade food both veg and non veg. A good place to visit if you’re looking to get away from the mundane and busy life in... More

A place which gives u peace, comfort, ambience, a homely environment...a break from fast urban life and a relaxation therapy to be felt ,it's a must visit for every person irrespective of the age or gender...Raja Saheb & Rani Sahiba gave us that parental care which we miss outside...felt like staying at home in a royal way..

Having read the other thoughtful reviews here, I second all of the outstanding things written about the Narayan Niwas Castle. Mahansar was a welcome respite from the louder and busier places we visited in India, and the Narayan Niwas was a truly extraordinary place to stay. One simply doesn't often get the chance to lodge in a place that is... More

I've been coming to Narayan Niwas Castle since 2008 and this was my 4th visit here. I have come with groups on motorcycles and cycle tours and have been mesmerised by this place on each and every visit. The first time you ride through the barren deserted landscape approaching Mahansar, you wonder where on earth this place is leading to.... More

We came for a couple of nights and stayed almost 3 weeks. Most of the reviews for this place are spot on. After years and years of world travel you know when you have discovered something special. The whole of our stay at Mahansar was a window into a fascinating world of traditional Rajasthani life from our wonderful Rajput hosts... More

On our last trip to Rajasthan, our stay in Narayan Niwas Castle was definitely one of the highlights. The sight of the castle from the small town of Mehansar is like a picture from long forgotten times. We deeply enjoyed the atmosphere created by the old castle, the big and beautiful rooms we stayed in and especially the hospitality of... More

We rode into the Narayan Niwas Castle as i was not ready for what we encountered. I felt like we had gone back in time. If you ever wanted to imagine what it was like to live in a palace in the times of yore then this is the place. The rooms have not been touched the paintings on the... More
