The Arches was a little bit of a surprise. You reach it by driving through a housing estate, and then through a golf course, past the driving range. But it is rather unique. We stayed in what are called the stables ( outside rooms separate to the main building) They have their own seating areas with a table undercover for... more

Driving through the golf course to the hotel in the dark we saw lots of rabbits. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the hotel was very clean. Plenty of storage space and efficient radiator in the first floor bedroom which had views over the golf course to sea. Decor a bit dated. Breakfast room opened onto the garden and... more

We visited this hotel for 2 nights, wish we had longer but alas poor yoric. Greeted on arrival with the warmest of welcome's by the owner, reception was great as we booked in, shown round our accomodation and the breakfast room, continental breakfast is included in the price £35.00 a night per person, very good value. the room we had... more

We booked this off the internet and was a little concerned when driving through a 'housing estate' but we were rewarded and amazed at the eventual location after driving through a Golf Course. What a beautiful location in a wonderful setting. The accommodation was good and the extra £5 for an English breakfast well worth it! We consider this a... more

Spent an overnight here. Beautiful spot, no bar but directed to the Golf club ( public bar ) a short walk away. Room and en-suite well appointed. Very good value at £35 a night including continental breakfast ( compare that with your average Travelodge/Travel Inn etc ). Interesting old building with large dining room/function room. Very quiet when we were... more

Stayed in one of the 'new rooms' - had a fantastic weekend. Really lovely location - if you want something away from the hustle and bustle - but close enough to all the local amenities then this is an ideal venue. The surrounding area is beautiful, the rooms are more than adequate for your needs, optional full english breakfast is... more

I've stayed here before on my own and have always been well looked by the team at the hotel. On this occasion the service was exemplary - the rooms were clean and comfortable, nothing was too much trouble for any of the team and they sounded genuinely interested in the plans we were making for the day and were adding... more

Let me start by stating, that having travelled extensively both nationally and throughout Europe, I have never visited a better establishment and would not hesitate in recommending this hotel to others. We were greeted by the owner who ensured all our immediate needs were catered for, and found our room to be a delight. Tastefully decorated with antique furniture in... more

We stayed at this so called hotel last year. The guy who owns and manages it is an ex rally driver who comes across as quite a nice chap initially but then when he joins you at the bar for a drink in the evening he proceeds to bad-mouth every other hotel and guest house in the Brotton area even... more
