We were very pleased with the value for money using the KGB deal. The bedroom was at the back of the property which suited us well being perfectly quiet, except for the rustle of the magnificent trees rising on the hillside behind the inn and the sound of birds. We arrived late but the Lady owner greeted us with a... More

Stayed here on a KGB deal, and think we must have had the same room as Margaret B ! What the Americans call "Quaint"! Very small room,no-where to sit, except the bed,and to walk around resembled an obstical course. The en-suite was even smaller by comparison and I believe it the smallest ever encountered...a feat of engineering to get the shower cubical, toilet and... Excellent weekend in the Exeter Inn, Bampton. It is an ancient Inn with cosy bedrooms and a typical English bar, heated by log fires and a spacious beamed restaurant with really good food and plenty of choice. The Inn is centrally situated in Devon, equally distant from North and South coasts plus Taunton and Barnstaple. You are very near to... More

Stopped for lunch. Fancied a light snack but wasnt going to pay £5.75 for a sandwich so opted for the "safe" choice of Ham, Egg and Chips. Dont bother, eating at a wonky table, surrounded by uninterested staff, with a plate of tough tasteless ham, overcooked eggs and bland chips. Either bring your own lunch or go somewhere else!

It was late and we were looking for a B & B in the area and came across the Exeter Inn. We wished we hadn't. We were shown to a small room, so small that it only had one bedside table (no room the other side) and no chairs, so you had to sit on the bed to watch tv... More

My husband and I have just returned from a 2 nights stay ,March 27th/28th; celebrating my birthday and our wedding anniversary at The Exeter Inn at Bampton. I have read the other reviews and can only but agree with the gentleman from Pontypridd (just missed meeting you) and have to say that the warm welcome we received from Jane and... More

My wife and I spent 2 nights in the Exeter Inn (25 & 26 March) using a KGB Voucher. The Inn is ideally located for those wishing to tour Devon. The city of Exeter and the pretty villages of Exmoor are within 30 minutes. Bampton itself is a 15 minute walk. There is plenty to see there (and on the... More

This looks really attractive from the outside. The bar is a bar in an updated pub. The food is fine - service was very slow but the staff charming but a little surprised when we asked where our food was an hour after ordering - there was a bottleneck apparently... Food was fine but not exceptional. Beer was good. We... More
