We have rented many cottages before and this was the worst that we stayed in so far.

This is on a working farm and we were aware of this before arriving.

When we arrived we noticed the overwhelming smell of tomcats inside the cottage, it was cold and very old fashioned (not quaint olde world).

We had to open the windows to attempt to get rid of the tomcat smell, but keep the curtains closed so that the vast amount of flies did not get into the house.

The shower was basic, the bathroom was cold, dingy. The towels were yellow. The water did not stay hot long.

The kitchen could have been much better, it was basic and cups were stained, nothing matched. Soon after our arrival we bought plastic cups, plates and cutlery from the nearest shop for our stay there.

On each bed there was a little hand written note to ask that suitcases not be put on the beds. The bedroom furniture was old, too much in each room. We had blankets and... more
