Visited this pub 3 times in the week we stopped at Winterton on Sea. This is a typical village pub with some very good local beers. The food we had there was excellent, there is a comprehensive menu which should satisfy most people also a specials board. All the food is cooked to order so don't expect instant service, but... Winterton is a wonderful village and we come several times a year to stay. The highlight of our holidays is visiting the 'Fisherman's Return'. It's a delightful pub, serving excellent real ales and ciders. The busy staff are hard-working and polite and the landlord always goes out of his way to come and chat. Last time at The Fisherman's I... More

We decided to stop for lunch here after accidentally coming across it. It was a lovely day and we sat out the front with our dogs. The lunch was wonderful and such generous portions. It was of good quality and we didn't have to wait around to be served. A sneaky peak at some of the other meals being ordered... More

Stayed a couple of nights with partner for a birthday trip - lovely cosy, clean, well decorated room; helpful, friendly staff, great evening food - very generous portions, a little more expensive than average pub food but of better quality so worth it. Also better selection for veggies than most. Good ales. Gorgeous beach only 5 or so minutes walk... More

Have just returned from an overnight stay at The Fishermans Return - and what a great stay we had there. They are completely dog friendly so our pooch had the time of his life with the beach being so close. Our room - was gorgeous with our window looking out to thatched roof cottages which was a delight. We found... More

We have been coming to this pub for lunch for quite a few years. The previous owners built the pub into the thriving business which it has become. At busy times they were on hand to help during busy periods whilst they always had time to pass the time of day with the customers. To their credit, the new owners... More

Stayed one night on a trip down memory lane. The rooms are cozy and functional , but the very small spiral staircase would be hard for the unflexable and the rear stairs is open to the elements. The breakfast and food in the bar are very good and reasonble priced. The only negatives were the mouse in the attic space,... More

Stayed here on 1st December 2012. Darren is an excellent host and cook. The accommodation is first class and the food is fantastic. I don't think a car passed the pub the whole night. I have never stayed anywhere so quiet.

This small village pub is welcoming and offers good food and ale at reasonable prices. We stayed a few nights in one of the rooms, which are all upstairs in the roof space. Access to our room was difficult - a choice of an impossibly steep (albeit short) spiral staircase, or trailing round the back and up some external steps... More
