Our family has just returned from a 2 day midweek stay at Mazzard Farm Cottages, taking over two interconnecting cottages. Although we did not require all the beds, it was ideal to have the space on the ground floor to meet and have dinner with family members who live nearby in West Hill. The kitchens are tucked away, leaving generous space in the living room in which to gather and have a chat (and dare I say a glass of wine). From the time of enquiry to the check out, Ruud was attentive and responsive, offering helpful information on all aspects of the cottages, local shops and things to do for all areas of interest. The big impression I got, through our communications, was that here is a person who will always try his best to help with whatever your query is. I had great confidence that the stay would meet all the needs of our family. One thing to mention is that if you are staying in the darker months, then carry a torchlight in the car (the light on the mobile phone is not so useful) so you can trace the path as you walk to the cottage from where you have parked. I am certain there is a torch in the cottage but I thought to mention it here. Since there is little light pollution, I am guessing it would be a good place to look at stars at night. I can see why the cottages are booked up in summer and the school holidays. But if you are not tied to term dates then East Devon is a great area to explore and staying here at Mazzard Farm Cottages is an excellent self-catering option. On the day of departure we went down the road to Coldharbour Field Kitchen to have breakfast which was a fine way to end our stay.…

A lovely stay for 14 of our friends for a Wedding. Juud was incredibly accommodating and the cottages were perfect for what we needed, the log burner was a perfect added extra along with a Christmas tree in the living room. extremely good value for money

My husband and I had a fabulous time staying at Mazzard Farm. The cottages are beautifully kept and the owners are super helpful. It's located on the most gorgeous spot on East Hill looking out over the Otter vale which is stunning. It's rural and quiet and perfect :-) I cannot recommend these cottages highly enough, we had a brilliant weekend, especially as it coincided with the famous tar barrels.

We stayed in Pippin and had a lovely long weekend enjoying the farm and taking day trips. The atmosphere is really relaxed and welcoming, with so many helpful touches and extras available to make a stay here really comfortable. Our toddler enjoyed the toys at the accommodation and was a big fan of the chickens, who did very well from our vegetable scraps!

So pleased to read this. We're delighted you had a great time in Pippin Cottage (Mazzard Farm's most popular cottage with 83% occupancy in 2023!). The Chickens say thanks for the very welcome scraps!

Pleasant family ambiance. Mazzard Farm is great for families with children. On the premises, there is plenty of space for them to run around, play football and feed the animals. We had a great time there!

Great week in Mazzard Farm conveniently located near Sidmouth / Ottery Saint Mary. Just feel we found a home away from home in Devon Cottage was in a very decent nick, with plenty of safe space for little ones to go around and either jump on trampoline, go down the slide on the playground area or run in the orchard with cycles/minicars available on site. Ruud and Jaqueline were very helpful and insightful with their advice, and do read the local guide provided, there are plenty of good nuggets you do not want to miss. Would definitely strongly recommend for families with little children Only negative. there are various narrow roads around, takes some confidence driving skills!!!

Many thanks Miki for your kind words. Great to read you had such a wonderful time and enjoyed all Mazzard Farm offers on-site and the local Guide we provide. As to the narrow roads, you probably hit them at the time when they are at their 'smallest', in Spring when all flora is growing like mad and farmers observing 'no mow May', allowing the wildlife in the headgrows do their thing. It makes them feel significantly more narrow. We look forward to welcoming you back some time at your 'home away from home'.

An excellent long weekend with 3 generations of family. Lovely location, convenient for coast & country, very friendly welcome, with complimentary cream tea! Kids loved ride-on toys provided, the animals, & plenty of space to play. A great find, & highly recommended.

Stylish, comfortable and spacious. We felt very well looked after by Rudd and Jack. Flexible living accommodation, cosy bedrooms. Great location. Well set up for families, though equally suitable for friends. Plenty of outdoor tables too for summer eating.

Our cast had a fantastic stay at Mazzard farm during November and December! We had 10 of our employees stay during their temporary contract with us, and they all loved it as their home away from home. Great communication with Ruud and family, and were always happy to help. Mazzard Farms is always high on our recommendations when visiting the area, and would be happy to stay again. Warm, cosy and surrounded by countryside, a great place to get away from it all!

Our family of four, with 5 and 8 yr-old girls, stayed for one night in Russet Cottage at Mazzard Farm. It was kind of the owners to let us stay for one night only and to arrive late. We had everything we needed and were very comfortable. We really regretted not staying for longer and will be back! The only thing I would suggest is a larger sign outside but I don’t expect many people arrive in the dark! Thank you to Ruud and family.
