We stayed at the hotel as we were attending a family party on Friday night. When we arrived we were told we were being upgraded to the honeymoon room. The room and the hotel in general is tired and not very clean. The room had a corner bath with an over bath shower. I was full of cold and really... More

I've been into the Dalgarvan on several occasions, only once for a meal (which was terrible), but decided to keep going for drinks now and then. We went in for a few drinks, and the place was cold, gloomy and lacking in atmosphere. A duller bar you couldn't find. The fire was on, which should've warmed the room, but it... More

My impression is that standards are reducing, where once the dark, wood fire heated bar could have been atmospheric and intimate it is now dingey and smokey. Rooms are of a variable quality, but general cleanliness and hygiene standards need to be addressed. Whilst the replacement of worn and stained furnishings will take money; cleaning away part used toiletries from... More

I brought my mother for a mother’s day treat and she was looking forward to the steak pie and she was not disappointed it was well presented and the vegetables were cooked properly and the steak was tender. I had the poached Salmon with the dill sauce which if you like fish dishes I would recommend very tasty... I heard... More

We got married in this hotel 7 years ago, so thought it would be lovely to return for a meal and overnight stay......how wrong were we !! As we entered the building through the main entrance the smell of stale cigarettes was the only greeting we received. The reception area is gloomy and dusty (cleaning the filthy window might help).... More

I would just like to say thank you to all the staff in the hotel who provided me (at last min) with a lovely little table for 2 beside the fire, a lovely meal with good quality food, my steak pie was Tasty with fresh veg and chips. My partner had the lamb and was equally impressed. We go there... More

I am a fairly regular customer of Dalgarven, along with other members of my family, however, the service and attitiude we encountered tonight ensures that we will never give them our custom again. My father and I went for a meal and were seated in the cosy bar, next to the log fire, which was lovely. The tables and chairs... More

I have visited this hotel for a number of years, through 5 previous owners. The current owner, offers a lovely menu and choice of bar food, sitting in the friendly lounge, or a more extensive menu in the beautiful conservatory overlooking the river and Dalgarven Mill. The food is good, and plentiful at a very reasonable cost. Only thing that... More

We booked a suite for one night to go to a wedding, it was more like two rooms! A good little hotel with a lovely dining room for breakfast. Very reasonable rates and a great breakfast good fresh, If you want simple and a good room for the night then its well worth a visit. Very nice indeed.
