We stayed at Mfangano Camp as honeymooners for 2 nights following a stay at Governor's Camp in the Masaai Mara. We flew from the Mara in a tiny jet (only 4 seats) of which one was next to the pilot and then took a 20 minute boat ride along the island coast to the camp. The skippers of the boat,... More

An unforgettable and hidden place in a magnificent remote spot far, far way on an island in lake Victoria. A real paradise with great hospitality and good services. We are the the first visitors from Kuwait to explore this wonderful island. I fell in love with this island.

This was our second visit to the beautiful Mfangano Island Camp, we finished our Kenya trip after many days in the Masai Mara here and what a perfect choice. With very little tourism on the island it really does feel like a Robinson Crusoe Island. The view of Lake Victoria from the lounge bar area and the breakfast jetty area... More

We could not make our usual visit to Lamu because of the security situation and selected Mfanagno Island camp instead. We were delighted - we prefer small camps. James and his wonderful team deliver quiet efficiency, great atmosphere, unbelievably good food - not to mention the 9 Hammercop babies on the lawns! - in an unbelievably wonderful setting. An ideal... More

Mfangano is a truly idyllic spot in which to relax after a safari on the Mara. I can’t understand why people would come for the day and not stay. Watching the sunset over Lake Victoria from our room, then walking through the gardens to dinner on the shore of the Lake was not to be missed. Having stayed in two... More

We stayed at Mfangano for 3 nights after our 5 day safari at Maasai Mara. The camp is situated on the bank of Lake Victoria. There are only 6 cottages which are quite large and tastefully decorated. The service is personal. The place is absolutely stunning and is also a great place for fishing for nile perch. The chef is... More

Really can't recommend this hotel enough. Great location, wonderful rooms and perfect for some R&R at the end or start of a holiday. We had a super 3 nights here where the hospitality was perfect too with three excellent meals everyday. I'm just amazed more people don't try it.

Thanks to Captain Michael and Samwell for sharing their beautiful island and “secret” fishing spots with us and for helping us to capture those great shots of the Fish Eagle. The accommodations are lovely and the staff from morning wake up with coffee and tea to a gourmet dinner prepared by chef, Samuel” were the perfect ending to our stay... More

We stayed at Mfangano for four nights with our three daughters, aged, 21,19 and 14 years. We went there having spent two nights at Loldia House , Lake Naivasha and four nights at Il Moran, Masai Mara, both of which were outstanding and we would highly recommend. Mfangano is paradise. The setting beautiful, unspoilt and peaceful. The accommodation is luxurious... More

Having spent a week in the Mara and Governors Camp it was wonderful to spend two nights here relaxing. Governors Camp in the Mara is superb but to enjoy it to its best you have to get up before 6am to go out on game drives. The drives are off road and dusty and bumpy; but the game is Simply... More
