We spent one night at Deneki Lakes prior to going into Denali National Park for a few days in the interior.

The B&B is new, just opening in fall 2008. The hosts are Marianne and Fritz, and they really show Swiss hospitality. Fritz performed most of the work on the B&B which they share with two guest rooms, each with en suite facilities. The room where we stayed was large, with an excellent view of the mountains in the distance.

Marianne fixed a delicious breakfast of quiche with local berry muffins. Also fresh fruit and juice. We took a muffin or two to take on the bus trip into the interior and enjoyed the snack a little later.

There is a path that can be taken down to the lakes, but we weren't there long enough to take advantage of it.

Both Fritz and Marianne were very accommodating hosts. And warm and enjoyable to talk with. They also suggested a local restaurant up the road a few miles that turned out to be an excellent... more
