This is one of the nicest hostels in an unbelievable location along side Carlo Creek. The staff is friendly and the bunks are great. The kitchen in the Octagon and the bathrooms are clean , good hot showers. They run a shuttle each day to and from the park, which is nice. Great restaurants across the highway, or the kitchen... more

This place was great. The staff was super super friendly. They made you feel like a part of a big ever changing family. The Octagon (meeting area) had a full kitchen and was a great place to sit around and chat with the other hostelers. They have wifi, and built campfires. The bathrooms and showers were clean and there was... more

We loved our cabin - we stayed in the Iceworm - so can't comment about the beds in the hostel itself. The common area is a building called the Octagon and is a nice place to cook and meet fellow travelers. The location is amazing - very close to the park entrance and feels very secluded and peaceful. Bathrooms and... more

If you don't mind the hostel experience and "roughing" it a little, this is a good place to experience Denali. We stayed in the IceWorm Cabin with a rushing stream and beautiful mountains just outside our door. Spectacular view right off our porch. You can build your own bonfire, hike up into the hills, and walk to a couple good... more

We stayed in Splater Rock Cabin, the Cabin itself was lovely. Everything made of pine which was a nice feature and it heated up quickly so we were not cold even though it was September. The communal showers and toilets are close to the cabin but a night it is pitch black so I would recommend to take a torch!!... more

Having had some negative experiences of hostels in the UK we were pleasantly suprised by this one. We had an individual cabin which was pretty small though clean and adequate for our stay. The communal areas (kitchen, showers, loos) were all clean and well maintained. The food is stored in the fridges/cupboards on an honesty basis - you label and... more

The hostel has great prices and offers a variety of lodging options. We stayed in the Razorback cabin. It was spacious and had a great view of the river from the second floor. The biggest problem we had with the hostel was that it was very dirty. I've never stayed at a hostel before so I don't know if this... more

Our first hostel experience, and it was great. Our family of 5 had a private no-frills cabin with 4 beds in a beautiful setting by the creek, about $100 a night. The cabins are tiny and for not much more than sleeping, but we were busy hiking and in Denali, so that is what we needed. No TV, no phones,... more

Because of the need to book last minute we experienced three types of accomodations 1. A tent on a platform no more than ten feet from a rushing stream. 2. Private cabin. 3. Male Bunk Room. This isn't a four star hotel, but it's a good value for the Denali area, the setting is delightful, everthing is clean, the staff... more

$70 total for 3 adults in our own room without a bath....sparse but clean and less than 50 yards from a lovely stream. Lovely setting and only about 10 minutes away from Denali Park. The common "handout" area and kitchen was comfortable and cozy with a friendly international clientel. What a bargain!!!!! more
